The It Girl by Ruth Ware

April Coutts-Cliveden was the first person Hannah Jones met at Oxford.

Vivacious, bright, occasionally vicious, and the ultimate It girl, she quickly pulled Hannah into her dazzling orbit. Together, they developed a group of devoted and inseparable friends during their first term. By the end of the second, April was dead.

It was Hannah who found April’s body ten years ago. It was Hannah who didn’t question what she saw that day. Did her testimony put an innocent man in prison?

She needs to know the truth. Even if it means questioning her own friends. Even if it means putting her own life at risk. Because if the killer wasn’t a stranger, it’s someone she knows…

The Only Suspect by Louise Candlish

Alex lives a comfortable life with his wife, Beth, in a leafy suburb. He may not be the most outgoing guy on the street, keeping himself to himself, but he’s a good husband and an easy-going neighbour.

That is until Beth gets behind the campaign to convert a local disused track into a nature trail. Suddenly Alex is a changed man – always watching, questioning, struggling to hide his dread.

As the construction gets under way, a secret threatens to surface, a secret Alex has kept hidden for years. A secret involving love, promises and terrible consequences.

This is a tale of wrong place, wrong time and wrong man. Betrayal, accusations, mistaken identities. In the end, it was all down to luck…
