St Helen’s offers four venues providing both modern and traditional theatre spaces. Each space plays host to wonderful productions throughout the year, from joint performing art collaborations with Merchant Taylors’ School to external productions and lets.
Book a space as a theatre, workshop or rehearsal venue, with staging, seating, lighting, sound and AV facilities available to accommodate your production and theatrical requirements.
The Rowland Brown Hall, named after the founder of St Helen’s May Rowland Brown, was built in 1959 and is a popular venue, ideal for theatre hire including concerts, theatrical productions, musicals and conferences. The Rowland Brown Hall can seat up to 300 people with a further 130 in the gallery. Suitable seating arrangements for dining can also be facilitated at round or long tables.
The adjacent Dining Room, Kitchen and Quad areas are also available for hire and are often combined to accommodate larger events.

The Centre is a versatile space and an ideal venue for performing arts productions, workshops, rehearsals as well as presentations. The Hall has retractable seating for 130 and additional seating can be made available. The adjoining Mint Cafe offers a perfect pre-drinks space or break-out area which leads to a mezzanine floor facilitating more seating. There is also an outside patio area overlooking our magnificent grounds.

Our new state-of-the-art School of Music provides facilities which are second to none. This venue offers a versatile space for performances, recitals, concerts and workshops. In addition to the Recital Hall, which offers an impressive facility for a number of events there is a Music Tech Room equipped with a suite of iMac computers, a Drum Room, a Recording Studio and thirteen individual practice rooms. It has a small car park to the rear of the building.

The Woolfson building opened its doors in 2016 and is located in the centre of our beautiful grounds. It is a uniquely designed eco building and offers a hall with retractable seating and classrooms/studios over two floors. An ideal performance space and location for workshops, training seminars and parties. It also has the benefit of having its own gated parking area.
